Ian Sutherland - Master of Ceremonies, Newton Hall
After a long career based in the Northumbrian countryside, including a variety of public posts, I jumped at the chance to work in a position where meeting people and facilitating their special day is what it’s all about. I started as Master of Ceremonies at Newton Hall in 2014 and occasionally help out at Le Petit Chateau. My job involves working closely with the bride and groom and the family to ensure they get the best out of their special day, as well as ensuring the guests have the best experience possible while at our venue.
What’s been your favourite project you’ve worked on at Apartment Group?
Every single day is a favourite project because each wedding I’m involved with is completely different. Every wedding I do is special and unique, memorable in its own way.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the variety the job brings. I meet a new group of people every day I come to work and get a lot of pleasure from helping to make their day as enjoyable as possible. I also enjoy working in a team which not only works like a well-oiled machine, but also makes the job great fun.
What makes Apartment Group different?
It’s a fascinating mixture of very high standards, can-do attitude, true professionalism, quirkiness, teamwork and great fun. I’ve never been involved in anything like it.
